SIA Recognised Security Guard Training
All Security Personnel have obtained an SIA recognised qualification consisting of training in the following areas:
Part 1
This section of the course covers the following topics:
- Introduction to the Security Industry and Roles and Responsibilities of Security Officers

- Security and Emergency
- Systems
- Fire Safety
- Health and Safety at
- Work
- The Law
- Emergencies
- Customer Care and Social Skills
- Communications and
- Reporting
- Equality and Diversity
Part 2 - Communication Skills and Conflict Management
This section of the course covers the following topics:
- Avoiding Conflict and Reducing Risk
- Defusing Conflict
- Resolving Conflict
- Post-incident Considerations and Learning from Conflict
Other specialist training is provided to meet the individual needs of the client and to develop the skills of the security officers and may include:
- First Aid – in accordance with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
- Fire Wardens – trained by the relevant fire service.
- Health & Safety – accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
- Retail Security – for shopping precincts and department stores.
- Guard Dog Training – as specified by NASDU (the National Association of Security Dog Users) in accordance with the Guard Dog Act.
- Such other training as may be required and relevant to a particular site or Assignment.
Company Induction Training
In addition to the training course carried out to obtain the Security Industry Authority licence all security personnel attend a Company Induction Training course which consists of class room based training on the below core subjects:

- Emergencies and fire awareness

- Misuse of drugs, alcohol and other substances

- Company Grievance Procedures
The Company Induction Training course is followed by a comprehensive Health and Safety and Environmental Training course.
